WHAT IT’S ABOUT

The Ski pass

That saves lives

Every year more than 5.000 people worldwide are killed, buried and badly injured by avalanches. Unfortunately, most of them don’t wear any avalanche emergency equipment – this dramatically decreases the survival odds in the case of an avalanche.

An international consortium of tourism, technology and civil protection has developed an innovative solution, to support mountain rescue in their search for casualties. SaveMe the first ski pass with a built-in positioning chip. With this, every winter sports athlete is automatically tracked and therefore protected.

AVALANCHE SAFETY

HOW IT WORKS

A pass,

that protects you

Every year, more than 5,000 people worldwide are buried by avalanches. Unfortunately most of them don’t wear avalanche emergency equipment and smartphone detection is too imprecise. This makes it extremely hard to find them in time.

Sölden, one of the biggest ski resorts in Europe, has developed the first ski pass with a built-in positioning chip. With this, every skier is automatically locatable under an avalanche.

Get the pass and carry it.

The reflector in the pass returns it.

In case of an avalanche the mountain rescue immediately sends out a radio signal.

You can then be located and recovered in time.*

Your skiing holiday

on the safe side

BOOK YOUR WINTER HOLIDAYS NOW

Spend your next vacation in one of the most modern ski and snowboard centers in Europe. The international ski metropolis Sölden in Tyrol, invites you to ski on its numerous slopes. From terrain for beginners to challenging slopes you will find everything that makes a ski holiday top with us. Of particular appeal: Sölden is the only ski area in Austria with three 3000m mountain peaks with spectacular viewing platforms that are accessible by lift.

* SaveMe is no substitute for an avalanche transceiver (LSV), but increases the chance to be found in case a person is buried.

* SaveMe guarantees neither principle protection against avalanches, nor the localization or the successful rescue of victims.

* All winter sports athletes should inform themselves prior to the departure of avalanche awareness and should enter the slope only with appropriate equipment.

SaveMe is availabe from season 2015/2016 for the ski area of Sölden – just ask just ask there for the option "SaveMe".
